NATIVE AMERICAN FAITHS
We return thanks to our Mother, the earth, which sustains us.
We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us
with water.
We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for
the cure of our diseases.
We return thanks to the corn, and to her sisters, the beans and
squashes, which give us life.
Thanks to Our Mother
We return thanks to our mother,
the earth, which sustains us.
We return thanks to the rivers and streams
which supply us with water.
We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines
for the cure of our diseases.
We return thanks to the bushes and trees, which provide us with fruit.
We return thanks to the wind,
which, moving the air, has banished diseases.
We return thanks to the moon and stars,
which have given us their light when the sun was gone.
We return thanks to our grandfather
that he has protected his grandchildren,
and have given us his rain.
We return thanks to the sun,
that he has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye.
Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in whom is embodied all
goodness,
and who directs all things for the good of his children.
ISLAM
We begin in the name of Allah, Most Merciful and
Compassionate
O Thou, the Perfection of Love, Harmony and Beauty:
All-powerful Creator, Sustainer, Judge
And Forgiver of our shortcomings.
Lord God of the East and of the West,
Of the worlds above and below,
And of the seen and unseen beings.
Pour upon us Thy Love and Thy light.
Give sustenance to our bodies, hearts and souls.
Draw us closer to Thee every moment of our life, until in us
be reflected Thy Grace, Thy Glory, Thy Wisdom, Thy Joy
and Thy Peace.
CHRISTIANITY
We give thanks, most gracious God, for the beauty of the
earth, sky and sea;
for the richness of the mountains, plains, and rivers;
for the songs of the birds and the loveliness of flowers,
and for the wonder of your animal kingdom.
We praise you for these good gifts,
and pray that we may safeguard them for our posterity.
Grant that we may continue to grow in grateful enjoyment
of your abundant creation, to the honor and glory of your
Name, now and forever. Amen.
BUDDHISM
With gratitude I remember the people, animals, plants,
insects, creatures of the sky and sea, air and water, fire and
earth, all whose joyful exertion blesses my life every day.
With gratitude I remember the care and labor of a thousand
generations of elders and ancestors who came before me.
I offer my gratitude for the safety and well-being I have been
given.
I offer my gratitude for the blessing of this earth I have been
given.
I offer my gratitude for the measure of health I have been
given.
I offer my gratitude for the family and friends I have been
given.
I offer my gratitude for the community I have been given.
I offer my gratitude for the teachings and lessons I have been
given.
I offer my gratitude for the life I have been given.
JUDAISM
Praise to you, Lord of the universe, who causes the earth to
yield food for all and who in kindness sustains the world.
Even as we enjoy your gifts, Oh God, may we never forget
the needy or allow those in want to be forsaken.
May our table be an altar of loving kindness and our home a
Temple in which the spirit of Goodness dwells.
May our table be an altar of loving kindness and our home a
Temple in which the spirit of Goodness dwells.

That is full, this also is full
This fullness came from that fullness
Though this fullness came from that fullness
That fullness remains forever full
Om Shaanthi Shaanthi Shaanthi
Let there be peace in Heaven
Let there be peace in the atmosphere
May peace fill the four quarters
May the waters and medicinal herbs bring peace
May planets give peace to all beings
May enlightened persons disseminate peace to all beings
May the Vedas spread peace everywhere.
